SVARA Turns 70 Years Old

The Saginaw Valley Amateur Radio Association held its 70th Anniversary Party
on Saturday August 22, 2026 at 5 pm at Sullivan's Food and Spirits, 5235 Gratiot Rd in Saginaw.

In attendance were ARRL Great Lakes Division Director Scott Yonally N8SY, Michigan Section Manage Ralph Katz, AA8RK and Michigan 94th District Representative Honorable Amos O'Neal.
Joe Turner K8CQF put together a wonderful 46 page commemorative booklet (PDF below) about the club history and supplied copies for all in attendance.

Two special tributes from Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer were presented, requested by Representative O'Neal and Michigan Section Manage Ralph Katz.

40 current and past members attended the event and some wonderful door prizes were given out plus everyone received a commemorative 70th Anniversary pin.

Several individuals were given special certificates for their past contributions to the SVARA club.
