2006 JOTA - Boy & Girl Scouts (and their Parents) experience Amateur Radio (Ham Radio)

Scouts all over the world will be operating radios this weekend.  At the Red Cross in Saginaw,  radios will be operated on both shortwave frequencies for world wide communications, and vhf/uhf frequencies for local communications.  Scouts will be allowed to operate the radios under the guidance of FCC licensed amateur radio operators.  We will also give them the chance to try out Morse code.  Information about how they can earn their own amateur radio license will be available.  For more information, please contact the SVARA club president, Keith DeLong.
